OF CARPETS AND LILY PLANTS

I slept very soundly last night until around 3:30 am, and didn't fall back asleep until just before 5:00 - usually a time when I'm waking up. And it was in that time span that I had the following dream:

I am sleeping on my couch in my living room and am awakened by some very noisy traffic just below my balcony. I get up and go to the balcony (every thing in my living room is exactly the same as I have it - the chairs, the piano, even the bits of clutter that develop around my chair). Even before I get to it, I see a two trucks, both are actually taller than my balcony rail, and each is filled with rolls of different carpets and underpadding. There is a momentary concern that they might do damage to the plants and furnishings on there, but I see that all will be all right.

I go back to the couch and lie down again, falling asleep quickly. Once more I am startled awake, this time by water being showered down on me. Sputtering and angry, I get up quickly and am shocked to see that my entire apartment is now filled with pots and pots of plants. The piano top, the counter, the floor (leaving only a very narrow path to walk along), and the entire balcony is filled with plants! While I see a variety, most of them contain a beautiful flowering plant, a delicate dusty pink lily-type of flower with the most exotic fragrance.

The water comes from someone on the ground watering everything with a hose. Entranced as I am with all this, I make my way quickly to the balcony edge and shout for them to turn the water off. "You're ruining my furniture and are shorting out the computer!", I yell down. I see now that the trucks that had the rolls of carpets are now filled with plants. I am also aware that every tenant in the building was given a large quantity of these.

Vaguely I also recall having further conversation with the men who delivered all this as well as two of my sons, who were spending the night with me.

At least the first part of the dream was so vivid that when I actually came into my living room this morning, I was a bit startled not to see these plants - lol!
