MOVIE MAGIC AND DISCUSSING GUNS
I am in a large cottage in the woods. The cottage itself is very plain, minimal furniture. The living room is turned into a make-up studio with many mirrors, tables and chairs. There are people all around. It's easy to see who the actors, both male and female, are - they're the ones in bathrobes, who come in chattering amongst themselves as they seat themselves in the chairs. The makeup people come in behind them, and begin their work. The whole place is alive with aniticipation as to the next scene is discussed.
I do not seem to have any specific job to do here, and so sit down out of the way in one of the easy chairs just to watch the process. A middle-aged man comes over and sits next to me. He is holding something that catches my eye - a gun. I ask him if it's real, and whether I could hold it. He is hesitant to let me do this, but does tell me that it's a .38, a replica. He holds it up for me to see. He goes on to tell me that he's the owner of the cottage that has been rented out to the studio, and that he has a large collection of replicas that normally are on these walls, but had to be taken down for the time being. In return I tell him that at one time I did some target shooting with a number of firearms.
In the meantime, the makeup progresses, and those actors who are finished head outside. It feels like summer, but as I look around I catch a glimpse of a reflection in the mirror - it shows that outside it's snowing! I quickly look out the door and see that indeed the snow is coming down, even though the leaves and grass are green. "Ah! Movie magic at work!" I think to myself.
As the last actor goes out, I go out right after him. He turns to me and asks me what kind of stuff I write (this is the first hint I have as to my purpose here on set). I tell him that, "If it were my choice, I would be writing about castles outlined against the sunset, tiny dragons - on a leash" I gesture grandly, "heros, strong and handsome", playfully punching him on the shoulder, "and maidens fair", dropping into a deep courtsey before him.
He laughs, as do some others who overhear me, and we trudge towards the one spot where the snow is coming down amongst the green and gold of summer.

The strongest image in this dream is the one with the mirror. Just recently, I have posed a question if anyone has seen mirrors or seen themselves in mirrors in their dreams. To my recollection, I this is the first time I have ever seen one. It was very dramatic to see the reflection of snow on a summer's day - there was a clarity and something very mystical in that image.
